Co2 laser engraving test. Checking engraving “waves” at high speed.
Comparison of 2 machines (30 watt BEAMO FLUX vs. Endurance 40 watt Co2 DIY on LE5040 SainSmart Gantry)
Parameters: engraving speed – 160 mm / s
Laser power – 30% (BEAMO 30W)
Laser power – 25% (Endurance lasers DIY Co2 upgraded 40W)
On the first test on Endurance 40 watt Co2 machine, you can see a lot of areas with waves. During the operation, the drive belts managed to stretch a little. The second test is done after the belts have been tensioned.
Keep in mind that if you see any waves – you need to check your belts and reduce the engraving / cutting speed.

The BEAMO FLUX clearly shows waves when engraving the mesh. They are found on vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines. 
Endurance Co2 laser does not have that waves

On the spiral, waves appear only on the inner loops. On our machine, the fires are less pronounced.
