An Endurance water cooling system (water + TEC chiller) - a chiller for your laser

Endurance developed a water cooling system for diode lasers and Co2 laser tubes.

Basic principle

Endurance water coolung system

 

Key parameters of the Water TEC chiller (2 x TEC):

Water tank volume: 1.35 liters.

Water pumping speed: 600 ml / min .

TEC cooler power: 2 x 120 watt = 240 watt (adjustable).

TEC cooler power 2 x 60 watt = 120 watt (optimal)

Minimum water temperature: 15-16C (if the outside temperature is ~30-31C).

Reaching the maximum capacity: 30-45 minutes.

Average temperature drop: 1.25C / 5 minutes.

Cooling capacity: 70-80 watt.

Good for: 40 watt Co2 tube, laser diodes, other purposes.

 

Key parameters of the Water TEC chiller (4 x TEC):

Water tank volume: 2.5 liters.

Water pumping speed: 1.8 Litres/min.

TEC cooler power: 4 x 120 watt = 480 watt (adjustable).

TEC cooler power 4 x (50-70) watt = 200-240 watt (optimal)

Minimum water temperature: 12-13C (if the outside temperature is ~32-33C).

Reaching the maximum capacity: 25-30 minutes.

Average temperature drop: 2.8C / 5 minutes.

Cooling capacity: 140-160 watt.

Good for: 80 watt Co2 tube, laser diodes, other purposes.

Water temperature 17-18C (under 50 watt heat load)

 

 

 

Water cooling system test with diode lasers

  1. 2 x diode lasers work full power
    1. 2 x 4.8V x 4.5A = 43.2 watt
    2. Heat power ~ 30 watt
  2. Diode temperature after 30 min of full power laser ~ 26-27C
  3. Initial water temperature 18C
  4. Water temperature in the water tank after 30 min of full power laser diodes ~ 22C
  5. Room temperature ~ 30C
  6. Water change temperature in a water tank +4C
  7. Delta temperature between the diode laser and the room temperature ~3-4C
