Endurance lasers have started to work on a small microchip laser.
The basic idea is very simple.
We get a small bonding crystal with Nd:YAG and pump it with 808 nm (infrared) laser diode.
In the crystal, the laser generation should appear at the 1064 nm wavelength. At the end of thy crystal, we add a Cr:YAG that makes the laser radiation pulsed.
We plan to pump the crystal with 5-10 watt 808 nm laser diode.
At the end we plan to get 3-4 wat 1064 nm pulse laser with the following parameters:
Repetition rate: 10-30 kHz
Pulse width: 1-5 ns
Average power: 3-4 watt
according to our calculation that would be enough to engrave (mark) on all metallic surfaces.
For laser beam focusing we plan to use 2 types of lens: F=20 mm / F=30 mm
