All you need to know about wires (AVG).

Please take a look at this post before extending wires for your laser box or laser control board

 

So if you want to increase wire length for laser box or laser control board we suggest to use AVG12 or AVG14.

 

For AVG12 if you increase a wire length for 1 meter (3.28 feet) you only have and an initial current is 4A and the initial voltage is 4.5V then you have:

Voltage drop: 0.042
Voltage drop percentage: 0.93%
Voltage at the end: 4.458

For AVG14 if you increase a wire length for 1 meter you only have and an initial current is 4A and the initial voltage is 4.5V then you have:

Voltage drop: 0.066
Voltage drop percentage: 1.47%
Voltage at the end: 4.434

 

For example if you use very thin wires like AVG24 with the same 4A current and 4.5V

Voltage drop: 0.67
Voltage drop percentage: 14.97%
Voltage at the end: 3.83

Which is too much.
