Here you will see the information about different tests on NUBM44 Testing – G-2 Lens Focal Lengths. This shows how quickly the beam becomes unfocused when moving the laser away from the work without adjusting the focus.
by Barnett Unlimited, LLC
Test Parameters:
NUBM44 Diode in 40mm x 40mm x 70mm housing w/ fan
G-2 wideband focusing lens
NUBM44 input power = ~250mA
NUBM44 output power = ~250mW
Camera w/ 190-540nm wavelength blocking lens
1″ and 3″ incremental testing
Observations:
Focused beam Fast Azis appears to approximately double in size every 6″ away from work
At 12″ laser started to burn material at about 750mA with focused beam
Test Results:
Test 1: This shows how quickly the beam becomes unfocused when moving the laser away from the work without adjusting the focus.
Lens Distance = 1″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 2″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 3″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 4″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 5″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 6″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 7″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 8″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 9″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 10″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 11″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Lens Distance = 12″ – Lens is focused for 1″
Test 2: This shows the spot size at increasing distances away from the work while adjust the focus at each interval.
Spot size focused at 1″ focal length
Spot size focused at 3″ focal length
Spot size focused at 6″ focal length – Approx .060″ wide on fast axis
Spot size focused at 9″ focal length
Spot size focused at 12″ focal length – Approx .125″ wide on fast axis
