Our current task is to test the capabilities of a handheld laser source for removing rust at a relatively low laser source power.

Among the specimens is a jelly corner with the original rust coating of a zinc composition. In an experiment on cleaning a zinc coating with rust, the line length was set to 7 cm, the power and speed were maximum. The zinc layer along with rust was not large and was completely removed within 5 minutes.

According to preliminary estimates, it takes about 3-4 hours to completely clean the brake disc from the level of rust.
The laser also reacts quickly to contamination of parts.
